“ABLAZE” BAKED BEANS
This delicious baked bean recipe can be made in a cast iron kettle using the Ablaze kettle winch. Baked beans are the perfect addition to an evening of grilling, and they taste incredible over the open fire. It is also simple and easy to grill the main course of your choice while the beans simmer away!
As you can see pictured, some of our Ablaze family are cooking this delicious baked bean recipe in a 10 gallon cast iron kettle, with pork loin on the grill. Yeah, we know – 10 gallons of beans!

1 Large can Pork-N-Beans
1 16 oz. can Butter Beans
1 16 oz can Kidney Beans
1 Onion (chopped)
1/2 lb Bacon
1 cup Ketchup
1 cup Brown Sugar
1 Tbsp Mustard
- Fry bacon.
- Use bacon grease to sautee onions.
- Mix ketchup, sugar, and mustard on stove. Bring to boil. (Or over fire, mix immediately with bacon and beans.)
- Add bacon and beans.
- Cook for 1 1/2 – 2 hours in cast iron kettle over campfire. Stir frequently to avoid sticking.
